'Should I buy that course?' 19 Smart Questions to Ask Before you Press 'Buy Now'

Between 2% and 10%.

Between 2-10% of students who purchase an online course actually finish it.

That’s pretty shocking, isn’t it? Especially when you consider how pricey these online courses are getting.

I’m going to be completely honest here: My name is Lois and I’m a Course-Junkie. (Phew, feels so good to write that out loud). Yes, I’ve bought an embarrassing number of online courses to help me grow my blog, but how many have I actually finished?

Very few.

How many have been a complete and utter waste of money?

Quite a lot, sadly.

So over the past 18 months I’ve developed a list of questions that helps me decide whether or not to purchase a course. This list has already saved me a fortune and I’d like to share it with you today.

If you’re about to fork over fistfuls of your local currency for that tempting online course to help you build your blog or grow your business, why not take a look at these questions and answer honestly.

Would you like to ban homework?

Would you like to ban homework and instead give your teen an hour of meditation practice?

Sounds crazy?

Actually one of the most prestigious girls' schools in Great Britain considered doing just this in an attempt to tackle the 'epidemic' of teenage depression and anxiety.

And it's a fair point, isn't it?

But let's just assume that homework isn't going the way of the dinosaurs anytime soon, if ever. It's just one more demand for our teens to juggle along with extra curricular activities, family time, chores, time with friends and maybe even a part time job.

Our teens need to be organized to juggle those demands.

Except 'organizing' isn't on the curriculum.

And if your teen is disorganized, homework is going to become a battlefield that makes Call of Duty look like a picnic.

So...

If you’ve ever wondered, ‘how do I help my disorganized teenager not get behind on their homework?’, this is for you.

If you’ve ever wondered, ‘how do I help my disorganized teenager get less stressed over homework?’, this is for you.

If you've ever wondered 'how do I avoid getting another phone call from that obnoxious Spanish teacher who makes me feel like parental-garbage because my teen forgot to work on their past tense verbs again?', this is for you.

Messy Husband? Don’t Run Off with the Postman Until You’ve Read This

You're a stay at home mom and damn-it, you work hard enough.

What you don't need is someone leaving a trail of mess and disorganization in their wake. No, I'm not talking about your toddler leaving foot-crippling Lego bricks all over the carpet.

I'm talking about your husband.

If you've been struggling with a messy husband and are one pair of sweaty socks left on the bathroom floor away from running off to Tahiti with the Postman, this post is for you.

Are you doing it yet?

I do it sometimes.

And I’m pretty sure the woman next door to you does it All. The. Damn. Time.

Yes, these days we’re all side-hustling. Apparently.

And the sad truth is that in these difficult economic times sometimes a side-hustle is just plain old necessity. Sometimes a side-hustle is all that keeps a mamma at home with her kiddos. And, just as importantly, sometimes a side-hustle is all that keeps a mamma in touch with adult conversation. (And away from daytime drinking/ugly-crying in the shower.)

The internet is overrun with advice from gurus, ninjas and mavens about different ways to make extra money. So how are you supposed to find the perfect side-hustle for you?

Here are 13 uncomfortably probing questions will help you choose the perfect side-hustle for you, your family and your season of life.

Shall we get started?

How to Declutter (Without Wanting to Burn Your House Down): A Guide For Moms on the Edge

How to Declutter (Without Wanting to Burn Your House Down): A Guide For Moms on the Edge

It happens to us all…

Since having children your home has been deluged with toys, baby paraphernalia and hand-me-downs. And ‘declutter’ has been on your to-do list for a long time. A really long time. Like a Game of Thrones Winter kinda long time.

But what can you do about it?

If you’ve got the vague dream of getting your home ‘decluttered’, I hope this post will help turn that dream into blissful reality. Even if you don’t have time, energy or a baby-sitter.

This post is divided into two parts. Part one is about things to do before you start decluttering. Part two is about how to keep clutter from coming back.

Don’t worry I’m definitely not going to ask you to get up at 4am or declutter your entire house in one weekend.
